Step by step
- Read the landing point
Move with WASD toward the ball’s landing ring. These controls come from September playtest community notes; check your current on-screen bindings.
- Player A receives
Aim at a teammate and left-click on the ground to receive. Player A should not immediately take another touch in a team match.
- Player B sets
The next teammate aims toward the hitter’s approach and uses E to set. Your side has at most three touches; a block does not use one.
- Player C attacks
The hitter charges a jump with Space, aims at the other court and left-clicks in the air. In 2v2 Player A can take this third touch; consecutive touches are allowed in 1v1.
One rally, in order
I rebuilt the first-point loop from the community beginner notes and the September key list, then checked it against the store’s “cursor aiming, manual movement” line. The grass-court screenshot shows the blue arrow and the purple landing ring. That ring is the read. Chase the ring, then aim.
Serve the ball over the net. Your side may touch it three times. You cannot touch it twice in a row unless you are alone in a 1v1. Send it back so it lands in. The other side does the same. Points are rally scoring: either side can win the point.
Your first five matches
Practise one role at a time: receive, let a teammate set, then approach for a spike. Aim before contact. The September community notes describe holding Shift to strafe while facing the cursor. Later community tutorials describe sprint/dash stamina; watch your current build’s indicator instead of assuming an unlimited sprint or an undocumented recovery timer.
Right click dives on the ground and blocks in the air. If you are late, dive. If you are early and tall at the net, block. Do not sprint-jump at every ball. The charge-plus-momentum note says a sprint jump carries you past the contact point.
The habit that fixes bad touches
Aim first, then press. Players who face the ball and mash the button send it wherever the cursor happened to sit, often the net or the ceiling. The cursor is the direction. Your shoulders are not.
After those five matches, learn the full bind list and one serve that is not a panic toss. The serve page splits float, power, and jump float using creator timestamps, and it labels those names as community names.

Questions people ask
How do you score?
Get the ball to land in the other court, or force them to miss. Both sides can score. A rally starts with a serve.
Can I hit the ball twice?
Not in a row, unless the match is 1v1. That exception is from the community beginner notes.
Does a block use a touch?
No. Those notes say a block is free and does not count toward the three touches.
