That establishes the state of this store entry, not whether every existing participant lost access or all playtest servers closed. We did not test either.
Steam’s news feed for the game has a 23 September 2026 post titled “Public Playtest NOW!!!” The body is the announcement image: join the playtest, and it will be added to your library. The image also said “Planned Release Date: Q4 2026,” which the later 19 October post replaced with 4 November.

12 September 2026: “Raw Gameplay Footage!” The developer posted three full matches and wrote that they hoped to do an open beta soon. No date was attached.
23 September 2026: the official public-playtest announcement. The community release-date page later reported an end on Sunday 27 September at midnight Eastern. Both the end date and hour are community claims, not confirmed by the retained official post. That wiki also retains an outdated Q4 release window, so use the official store for the full-game date.
19 October 2026: the free Next Fest demo announcement; the full game is listed for 4 November. On 20 October Steam carried the Rock Paper Shotgun column. None of the four items in the checked news response schedules another test.
What to play instead
Open the demo page for the separate free build and its availability caveat. A missing Install Demo button would show that this install route is unavailable, not prove a universal end time or loss of access for existing installs. Check an official announcement for broader closure claims. Do not pay a third party for a “playtest key.”
