just volleyball multiplayer

What Steam actually checks
I read the category list on app 5037200. It includes single-player, multi-player, PvP, online PvP, LAN PvP, shared and split-screen PvP, co-op, online co-op, LAN co-op, shared and split-screen co-op, Remote Play Together, and family sharing. The beach screenshot is a full court with a crowd. It shows the fantasy of six a side. It does not prove your couch co-op session will boot.
| Mode | What is listed | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| 1v1 through 6v6 | Store description | Official copy |
| Offline bots | Store description | Official copy |
| Online PvP, LAN PvP | Steam categories | Store flags |
| Shared / split screen | Steam categories | Flag is on. Playtest players reported it failing. No developer reply. |
| Remote Play Together | Steam categories | Store flag |
| Quick play, custom lobby, open gym | Community mode notes | Playtest-era write-up, not a patch note |
| Crossplay | Not mentioned | Unannounced |
Playing with a friend: historical workflow, not a UI retest
The community mode notes describe playtest-era quick play, custom lobbies with room codes, and open gym. They also describe bots filling quick-play slots. We have not retested the lobby UI in the 27 October 2026 demo. The workflow here is a historical guide to look for, not an exact current sequence of menu labels.
If the game reports a version mismatch, the original Steam thread contains a player report that verifying files helped. That is a reported workaround, not a guaranteed fix for every lobby error. See troubleshooting for the source limits.
- Use the same Steam app and compare installed build versions before trying to meet.
- If your build offers a custom-lobby option, one player can create a room and share its room code, following the historical community workflow.
- The other player should look for a join-by-code control and use that code if supported. We have not verified its current label or placement.
- Once both players appear in the room, inspect the available team and match options together. If those controls or code entry are absent, do not assume this old workflow still applies; consult current developer guidance.
Local play is a conflict, not a yes
The store flag says split screen exists. A playtest write-up says players could not get two people on one PC, and no developer reply is quoted there. Both sentences stay on this page until someone publishes a test on the demo or the full game.
Crossplay is not announced in the official store material checked. Running the Windows build through a compatibility layer on a Linux handheld would not by itself establish cross-platform support or working multiplayer. Steam Deck compatibility remains untested here; see the Deck page.

Questions people ask
How many players can play just volleyball together?
The store lists 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, and 6v6. Bots can fill empty spots in the modes community notes describe.
Is local multiplayer working?
Steam lists shared and split-screen PvP. Playtest players said same-PC play did not work. The developer did not answer that report in the notes we have. Treat local play as unconfirmed.
Is there crossplay?
No announcement. Do not assume a console or phone player can join.
Why is there no friends button?
Historical community notes describe joining a custom lobby by room code, not a guaranteed current friends-menu layout. We have not retested the current demo UI. A missing friends button in one build does not establish a permanent design choice.
